The West Hancock boys and girls track teams competed in the Red Storm Invite at United High School on Thursday, March 28.

The boys placed third with 94.5 points. ROWVA/Williamsfield was first with 113 points and Abingdon-Avon was second with 99 points. On the girls’ side, West Hancock placed seventh with 45 points. ROWVA/Williamsfield was first with 137 points. Cambridge second with 114 points and Orion third with 112 points.

Josh Aitchison was first in the 3,200-meter run in 12:11.08 minutes. Nolan Gooding was first in the long jump with a jump of 6.10 meters. Gooding also won the triple jump in 12.20 meters. The Titans’ 4 x 400 relay team of Quentin Althar, Parker Quinlan, Dominick Quinlan and Evan Carel was first in 3:46.37 minutes. The 4 x 800 relay team of Althar, Parker Quinlan, Dominick Quinlan and Evan Carel was first in 8:45.91. Althar was second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.32. Parker Quinlan placed fourth in the race with a 2:16.17. Bryce Varner was fifth in the 100 meters in 11.94 seconds. Noah Bradley was 17th in 13.30. Sam Perego placed 16th in the 200 meters in 32.43. In the 400 meters, Evan Carel was fourth in 54.23 and teammate Dominick Quinlan was sixth in 57.48. Joel Cochran placed eighth in the 1,600 meters in a run of 6:29.95 and Magnus Klatt was 11th in 8:35.25. Noah Huston placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 20.21. In the 300-meter hurdles, Evan Jackson was fifth in 49.26. Huston was eighth in 50.80.

The 4x 100 relay team of Cooper Shaw, Porter Bodily, Bryce Varner and Nolan Gooding was fifth in 47.37. The 4 x 200 relay team placed fifth with the team of Evan Jackson, Noah Bradley, Josh Aitchison and Porter Bodily. In the shot put, Wesley Hester was 14th in 8.62 meters. Conner Primmer was 15th in 8.29. Hester placed 12th in the discus with a best of 25.03 meters. Wade Gooding was 13th in 24.97. In the high jump, Bryce Varner was 11th in 1.62 meters. Noah Bradley was 14th in 1.47. Copper Shaw jumped 4.78 meters to place 10th in the long jump.

Renee Blunier finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.07 seconds. Olivia Vradenburg was second in the shot put with a throw of 9.50 meters and second in the discus with a best throw of 28.84. The 4 x 800 relay team of Destiny Huffman, Susanna Stout, Grace Poland and Allyson Poland was fourth in a run of 13:17.82. Blunier crossed the line in fifth place in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 57.26. Huffman was fifth in the triple jump with a best of 8.28 meters.

Other results: Erin Colvin was sixth in the discus with a best throw of 22.73. The 4 x 400 relay team of Gunning, Stout, Jenny Torgerson and Trinity Svejda finished in seventh place with a time of 5:35.74. Susanna Stout placed seventh in the 1,600 meters in 7:00.85 minutes. Trinity Svejda was eighth in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 24.28 seconds. Madelyn Sackett threw a best 6.12 meters for 10th place in the shot put. In the 400 meters, Jenny Torgerson was 10th in 1:17.43 and Allyson Poland was 14th in 1:28.29.

In the 100 meters, Taylor Suter was 12th in 15.65 and Abbie Gunning placed 16th in 17.62. In the 200 meters, Suter was again 12th in 34.01 and Gunning was 14th in 36.83.

Destiny Huffman was 12th in the 800 meters in 3:24.98 and teammate Grace Poland was 13th in 3:29.01. In the long jump, Huffman placed 10th in 3.79 meters and teammate Gunning was 12th in 3.19 meters.
